MTN and UAE investor form Africa Data Hub for AI data centres

On August 27, MTN Group and Dubai‑based investor Tarek Al Ashram unveiled Africa Data Hub Holding Ltd, a joint venture to develop AI‑ready data centres across Africa, starting with about 150 MW of capacity in South Africa and Nigeria. Bloomberg reported that Al Ashram’s investment firm will fund the venture, while MTN will hold a minority stake and contribute its connectivity footprint.
