Anthropic signs huge Queensland data center lease for Claude

Anthropic has signed a long term lease at the planned Western Downs Digital Park in Queensland, securing its first Australian data center capacity to run Claude inference for Asia Pacific users. The multi phase campus, developed by Zerra DC, is projected to reach up to about 2.16 gigawatts and an estimated 32 billion Australian dollars in total investment subject to regulatory approvals.
