EuroHPC LUMI-AI supercomputer taps AMD for €387.8M sovereign compute
On September 2, 2026, EuroHPC Joint Undertaking’s €387.8 million contract with Bull to build the LUMI‑AI supercomputer in Finland was detailed by European tech outlets. The system will use AMD Instinct MI430X GPUs and 256‑core 6th‑gen Epyc CPUs, delivering roughly 10 times the AI performance of today’s LUMI with about double its traditional HPC power when it comes online in 2027.
