IIT-Guwahati backs Assam’s AI-in-schools push with teacher training and new textbooks

IIT-Guwahati is supporting Assam’s move to introduce artificial intelligence as a subject in Class 11 by training an initial batch of 126 government-school teachers and co-authoring AI textbooks for grades 11 and 12. The institute plans to expand training to other northeastern states and scale its online data science and AI programs, highlighting India’s push to build AI literacy and talent beyond major metropolitan centers.​
