Anthropic signs first Australian deal for $32 billion Queensland AI datacentre

Anthropic has agreed to lease capacity at a planned $31.9 billion data centre campus in western Queensland, its first Australian datacentre deal, Queensland’s premier announced on September 16, 2026. The hyperscale facility at Western Downs Digital Park is billed as Australia’s largest and will host Anthropic’s Claude models once operational.
