PLN Indonesia Power and Huawei sign AI joint study to digitalise Indonesian coal plant operations

Indonesia’s state‑linked generator PLN Indonesia Power has signed a Joint Study Agreement with Huawei to explore AI‑driven digitalisation of power plants, starting with the 4×315 MW PLTU Banten 3 Lontar coal plant. The collaboration will test intelligent inspection, HSSE (health, safety, security and environment) digitalisation, and integrated ICT and cybersecurity systems as a pilot, with the goal of improving efficiency, safety and resilience while supporting Indonesia’s broader energy transition and smart‑plant ambitions.
