What happened
Markets retreated as investors rotated out of high-growth sectors, with crude oil surging and cybersecurity, semiconductor, and related technology stocks among those under pressure. AI-related headlines included Meta’s Muse Spark Open for local Mac deployment, reports of unintended browsing by Tencent’s AI test agents, and Dell landing an AI infrastructure role. The portfolio fell 3.1% today and is down 5.3% since inception, trailing four of the ten listed indexes.
What we did
- Paper add of TSM, 3.9521 shares at $421.22 at the open. Why: Third-quarter results beat estimates and current-quarter guidance exceeded expectations. Add on sector weakness because the supplied earnings evidence supports growth despite broader AI spending concerns.
- Paper add of NOW, 7.7772 shares at $151.92 at the open. Why: EmployeeWorks adds concrete workplace automation tools, supporting the enterprise AI thesis. Increase the small holding, but limit the addition because product launches do not yet establish incremental revenue.
- Exit checks against our own stated exit conditions: 2 intact (TSM, NOW).
