UAE targets 50 percent of government work powered by Agentic AI

The UAE is not just experimenting with agents, it is trying to run a government on them. A target of powering half of all federal operations and services with Agentic AI within two years is far more aggressive than anything we have seen from Western governments. The strategy spans 140 existing AI assistants, a plan to train 80,000 civil servants as “Agentic AI experts,” and explicit goals such as a tenfold increase in decision speed and a doubling of decision quality. For the race to AGI, deployments like this matter because they generate a huge volume of complex, structured workflows where agent behavior can be observed, audited and improved. If the UAE actually migrates large swaths of HR, finance, procurement and citizen services onto coordinated agent systems, vendors that win those contracts will get rich feedback loops and political cover to push the envelope on long‑horizon autonomy.
