  On October 13, 2026 Moneycontrol reported that former OpenAI researcher Shyamal Hitesh Anadkat is in talks to raise about 15 million dollars for his new AI startup Empirical Machines at an estimated 80 million dollar valuation. The Bengaluru based company is building AI systems to accelerate scientific discovery, especially in chemistry and materials, and is backed by angels from OpenAI, Google DeepMind and other frontier labs.
