On August 27, MTN Group and Dubai‑based investor Tarek Al Ashram unveiled Africa Data Hub Holding Ltd, a joint venture to develop AI‑ready data centres across Africa, starting with about 150 MW of capacity in South Africa and Nigeria. Bloomberg reported that Al Ashram’s investment firm will fund the venture, while MTN will hold a minority stake and contribute its connectivity footprint.
On July 8, 2026 Empower AI, a KKR‑backed federal IT contractor, announced it has acquired Highlight Technologies, an employee‑owned US government IT services firm. The deal broadens Empower AI’s DevSecOps, AI/ML and data management offerings for agencies including the Departments of State and Homeland Security.
Los Angeles–based identity security company Saviynt has secured a $700 million Series B growth equity round at an approximately $3 billion valuation, led by KKR with participation from Sixth Street Growth, TenEleven and existing backer Carrick Capital Partners.
