Nvidia CEO to deepen AI alliance with Korean industrial giants

Huang’s planned meetings with the leadership of Samsung, SK, Hyundai and LG around Computex are a reminder that the ‘AI alliance’ narrative is increasingly anchored in supply‑chain diplomacy, not just model benchmarks. Nvidia needs foundry capacity, advanced memory and system‑level integration to deliver its Blackwell‑generation GPUs at the scale frontier labs demand. Korean conglomerates control critical pieces of that stack—from HBM and packaging to automotive‑grade systems and consumer endpoints.

For the AGI race, these alliances help determine who actually gets the compute needed to train and deploy the most advanced models. If Nvidia can lock in long‑term arrangements with Korean partners, it strengthens its position against AMD and any home‑grown GPU efforts in China, while giving Korea privileged access to next‑gen accelerators and reference architectures. That, in turn, could make Seoul a more attractive hub for hyperscaler data centres and automotive‑AI platforms.
