Microsoft France picks 15 GenAI Studio startups to scale Azure AI ecosystem

GenAI Studio is Microsoft’s way of making Azure the default home for Europe’s next wave of generative AI startups—and this third French cohort shows the strategy maturing. By offering substantial Azure credits, access to 11,000+ models via Azure AI Foundry, and hands‑on support from partners like Mistral AI, Nvidia, Databricks and ENGIE, Microsoft is knitting together a tightly coupled ecosystem around its stack.

In the race to AGI, the strategic value isn’t just the individual startups; it’s the network effects. Each healthcare, education or finance startup that standardizes its stack on Azure adds more real‑world workloads, domain data and operational feedback into Microsoft’s orbit.
