Senior Technical Architect (Generative AI Architect)

Job Description

Principal‑level generative AI architect role at HCLTech in California. You own architecture and delivery of large language model systems and other generative AI solutions for enterprise clients, from model choice through deployment and governance. The job blends hands‑on prototyping with high‑level solution design and technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Architect end‑to‑end generative AI solutions that meet client business goals
• Evaluate, select, and customize foundation models for text, image, or multimodal use cases
• Lead development of LLM‑based applications, including prompt design and model customization
• Define AI infrastructure: data pipelines, model serving, vector stores, and APIs
• Establish responsible‑AI guardrails around fairness, privacy, and explainability
• Run proofs‑of‑concept and benchmarks to validate architectures with real data
• Mentor engineers and data scientists, codifying best practices for generative AI
• Stay current on research and recommend new tools and patterns to HCLTech’s AI practice
