Cognizant has inked a five-year IT services agreement with Dutch industrial components supplier ERIKS, extending a relationship that dates back to 2017 into a more strategic, long-term partnership. Under the contract, Cognizant will take over all operational IT services and help modernise ERIKS’ technology stack, with a specific mandate to enable scaling on emerging technologies like generative AI. ERIKS’ IT leadership frames the deal as a way to refocus internal teams on strategic roles while tapping Cognizant’s advanced technical expertise as an "adaptable extension" of its IT department. For Cognizant, the win adds to a string of multi-year AI and digital transformation engagements in Europe, bolstering its backlog in a region where industrial clients are under pressure to both cut costs and digitise operations. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the emphasis on GenAI suggests the work will go beyond basic outsourcing into co-developing AI-augmented workflows and decision-support systems.
