Researchers from Andhra Medical College in Visakhapatnam and collaborators in the US and UK evaluated Swaasa, an AI platform from Salcit Technologies that analyzes cough sounds to screen for respiratory illnesses. In a cohort of 355 participants, the tool achieved 97.27% sensitivity, suggesting it could be a low‑cost, non‑invasive front‑line screening method for lung disease, particularly valuable in resource‑constrained settings if validated at larger scale.
