Job Description
Research Scientist role on Meta’s Llama large language model research team, focused on advancing state of the art in foundation models for language (and often multimodal) tasks. The team works on areas like LLM alignment, multilingual modeling, RLHF, responsible AI, and efficient training and inference, with an explicit mandate to both publish and ship research into products.
Responsibilities
- Lead and collaborate on research that pushes forward the state of the art in large language models, including alignment, efficiency, and robustness.
- Design and run experiments, write reusable research code, and build evaluation pipelines for new methods and architectures.
- Publish results in top conferences and contribute to Meta’s open‑source efforts around Llama and related tooling.
- Partner with product and applied teams to translate promising research into Meta products (e.g., generative features in messaging, ads, or AR/VR).
- Contribute to responsible‑AI discussions and practices around safety, fairness, and model controllability.
