Machine Learning Engineer, Simulation Realism

Job Description

Applied ML engineer on Waymo’s Simulator Team building highly realistic simulations of roads, agents, and weather for testing and training the Waymo Driver. Uses large foundation models, diffusion, and other ML techniques to increase fidelity and steerability of simulations.

Responsibilities

• Develop ML models that improve realism of simulated agents and environments
• Apply foundation models and generative techniques to simulation tasks
• Build training, evaluation, and deployment pipelines for simulation models
• Collaborate with software engineers and data scientists across the Simulator Team
• Use simulation outputs to measure and enhance performance of the Waymo Driver
