Job Description

The Windows Copilot team owns the full AI stack for Copilot in Windows—from infrastructure and models to UX. As an Applied Scientist MTS, you lead end‑to‑end model building: understanding problems, curating data, developing and deploying models, and iterating based on real user feedback. The role bridges Microsoft Research and engineering, taking increasing ownership of model training and Copilot intelligence in Windows.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end model development for Windows Copilot, from problem framing and data curation through training and deployment
  • Design and refine data pipelines and infrastructure to support Copilot models
  • Collaborate with Microsoft Research and engineering teams to bring new model capabilities into Windows
  • Evaluate model performance with telemetry, experiments, and user feedback and drive iteration
  • Contribute to Copilot’s overall AI strategy and help shape future features and user experiences

Benefits

Data Sciences IC4 base pay range: $119,800 – $234,700 in the U.S.; IC5 up to $274,800, with higher ranges in SF Bay Area/NYCEligibility for bonus and stock compensation per Microsoft corporate pay guidelinesStandard Microsoft corporate benefits (healthcare, retirement plans, paid time off, etc.)Hybrid work model with at least 3 days per week in the Redmond office (moving toward 4 days for MAI employees in 2026)
