Research Scientist – ML Research (NAVER AI Lab)

Job Description

Research Scientist role in NAVER AI Lab’s ML Research group, focused on multi‑modal learning, trustworthy/robust ML, explainability and general machine learning algorithms, with an expectation of publishing at top venues (NeurIPS, ICLR, ICML, CVPR, etc.) and contributing to NAVER products.

Responsibilities

• Organize and execute an independent research agenda aligned with ML Research’s focus areas (multimodal learning, reliability, explainability, uncertainty, etc.).
• Lead and collaborate on ambitious research projects within NAVER AI Lab, targeting publications at top conferences.
• Translate some research outcomes into NAVER services (e.g., HyperCLOVA X, OCR, recommendation) in collaboration with product teams.
• Mentor interns and junior researchers and participate in broader AI Lab activities (reading groups, workshops).
